The RoundGlass Samsara Summit is a gathering of thought leaders, legislators, industry leaders, environmentalists, religious leaders, scientists and innovators to discuss our response to the ecological crisis. The summit will be held at the historic Vidhana Soudha, the temple of democracy of the state of Karnataka, India.

Three-term President of the Republic of Kiribati,Tong has been at the forefront of raising global awareness about catastrophic risks caused by climate change. This country will be the first to submerge due to climate change.
He has been awarded leadership and environmental prizes for his work both in environmental protection and his advocacy on climate change and its effects.


Robert Charles Swan


Holds the Guinness World Record as the first person to walk to both Poles. He is currently an advocate for the protection of Antarctica and renewable energy. Swan is also the founder of 2041, a company which is dedicated to the preservation of the Antarctic and the author of “Antarctica 2041: My Quest to Save the Earth’s Last Wilderness” with Gil Reavill.


Vivek Menon

CEO, Wildlife Trust of India

Vivek is a Senior Advisor to the President and CEO of The International Fund for Animal Welfare on Strategic Partnerships & Philanthropy and founder, Executive Director and CEO of the Wildlife Trust of India. A wildlife conservationist, environmental commentator, author and photographer with a passion for elephants, he has been involved in founding five environmental & conservation organizations in India. He is the author or editor of eight wildlife books including the bestselling Field Guide to Mammals of India, scores of technical reports and more than a hundred articles in various scientific and popular publications.

He serves as an Advisory Board Member of NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore & Ashoka University. A Gold-Medalist MBA from IIM Bangalore and a Bachelor’s degree from IIT, Puneet pledges for the cause of Climate Change and for his company to be completely renewable by 2025 and produce the “Greenest cement in the world”.

Carnivore Ecologist

Mordecai Ogada is a carnivore ecologist who has been involved in conservation work for the last sixteen years in Kenya and other parts of Africa, mainly in human-wildlife conflict mitigation and carnivore conservation. His biological work includes studies on lions, hyenas, cheetah, African wild dogs, and otters. Dr. Ogada’s professional work has included research and teaching conservation leadership at Colorado State University. Much of his energy has been devoted to the area of community-based conservation, wildlife policy, and wetlands ecology. Mordecai’s book The Big Conservation Lie is a wakeup call focused on a field that has been ‘front and centre’ of many people’s hearts and minds in recent years.

Artist & Environmentalist

An Indian model, actress, producer and beauty queen who has won the Miss Asia Pacific has been recently appointed brand ambassador for the Wildlife Trust of India. She has lent her support to WTI’s wildlife conservation endeavors for several years now and is a founder-member of the organization’s Club Nature initiative. Mirza has been involved with Cancer Patients Aid Association, Spastics Society of India, and has worked extensively with government of Andhra Pradesh to spread HIV awareness, prevention of female foeticide, PETA, CRY and most recently the Greenathon – an effort to find tangible solutions against pollution. Dia won the Green Award at IIFA 2012. Along with these, Mirza has endorsed The Body Shop for their stand on the ban on animal testing and propagation of recycled packaging and natural products. She has been named the ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Mission.


Jairam Ramesh

Former Union Minister, Economist

Jairam Ramesh is an Indian economist and politician belonging to Indian National Congress. He is a Member of Parliament representing Andhra Pradesh state in the Rajya Sabha since June 2004. In July 2011, Jairam Ramesh was elevated to the Union Council of Ministers of India and appointed Minister of Rural Development and Minister (additional charge) of the new Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. However, in the cabinet reshuffle in October 2012, he has been divested of the portfolio of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. He was previously the Indian Minister of State (Independent Charge) at the Ministry of Environment and Forests from May 2009 to July 2011.


His Holiness Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji

Head of Adichunchanagiri Math

HH has a BE in civil engineering at National Institute of Engineering Mysore and M.Tech in structural engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He was selected as a scientist at Central Water and Power Research Station Poona. He instead volunteered to teach at a blind school in Ramanagar district. In 1998 he renounced worldly life and became a Swamiji. When Balagangadharanatha Swamiji died on 13 January 2013, Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji succeeded him as head of Adichunchanagiri Math.



This summit will be attended by people from all walks of life including environmentalists, conservationists, religious leaders, political leaders, educationists, industrialists and other experts. Together, we hope to celebrate nature and find a solution for the pressing ecological crisis in India.
